What is $100 x 100 people who give a sh*t?
This month we’re launching a new Fire in the Village crowdfunding campaign — and we hope you will join us!
We’re looking for 100 people who will donate $100 each to a new Give a Sh*t fund — and who will help us recognize Native and rural community leaders who give a lot, but might be overlooked or under-resourced.
One hundred percent of the money raised through this crowdfund will be gifted to people tending small fires of creativity, connection and community in Native and rural places across our region.
In October 2025, Fire in the Village will host our first fundraising gala to raise money for creative projects that help our communities remember that we are all made of earth, and we are power.
At this event we will also honor two under-recognized leaders — people who care for others and do the work every day to spark and sustain small fires in the places they love. They will each receive a no-strings-attached financial gift of $5000.
One hundred percent of money raised through the Give a Sh*t campaign will be gifted to under-recognized community leaders.
Those who join (making a $100 contribution, and pledging to Give a Sh*t) will be invited to nominate someone from their village or community to receive this recognition. Give a Sh*t donors will also help select two leaders to honor with this financial gift, but we will uplift all of the nominees at our Fire in the Village gala.
